Amanda's Wedding Jewelry

My son got married this past Sunday and his wife (Gee, that sounds weird to me right now) Amanda had asked me months ago if I would make the jewelry for her bridal party, so naturally I said yes.
I ran into some problems early on, there were a lot of things happening all at once in my life and then I started to run out of time. So I wasn't able to make the focal beads like I had planned.
I asked a good friend of mine and fellow flameworker Barbara Svetlick if she would make some flower pendents for me.
She immediately and very graciously said yes and Thank Goodness for that, because she certainly saved my skin that day.
She is an amazing multifaceted artist, who can not only sketch, draw and paint, along with being an amazing flameworker, she is also a writer and a very good one at that.
So here is the end result, it's just a pic of one, but ten similar necklaces were made, along with ten bracelets and ten pairs of earrings.
Along with Barbara's beautiful glass flower pendents, I added fresh water pearls, light pink crystals, with clear crystal leafs and sterling silver findings.
The jewelry went perfectly with the theme and colors of the wedding.
I couldn't have asked for it to be anymore perfect than it turned out to be.
They were a big hit with the bridal party and I can guarantee those pieces will be treasured forever, because I saw the look on the girls faces when Amanda passed them out at the rehearsal dinner and I also saw the look on hers, when she first saw them.
This was all so very meaningful to me, as Christopher is my only son and my first born.
We are very close and I wanted this to be extra special, because he is leaving for boot camp in the United States Air Force at the end of the month.
And extra special it certainly turned out to be. :)
Thanks again for everything Barbara, you made this all possible and you are an amazing artist and an amazing friend!!
I will never forget what you did for Chris & Amanda, it means the world to me and you will forever hold a special place in my heart.
If you haven't seen Barbara's other work, you are missing out on some beautiful pieces!!
